It appears that Panik Terror Musik (or some such) is putting out a re-release of The Eternal Winter by Forest Silence.
Hopefully without "limited to ten tape copies", this time
.
Anyway, just got a copy of "Voron / Raven" album by Russian band Karna and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Mid-tempo, very atmospheric ambient/black metal, similar to latest Forest Silence album (Philosophy of Winter, that is). Has anyone else heard this? |

Aryan Terrorism is basically Varggoth's attempt at fusing NS hardcore with black metal and it's mostly okay. Like Putrid Wind said, however, the
lyrics are a riot for all the wrong reasons. The ones in "Jewish Provocation" are especially inspirational:
"ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH, THEY'RE COMING TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN ARRRRRRRRGHHHHH!" Lately I've been enjoying Tulus' Pure Black Energy, Leviathan's Massive Conspiracy Against All Life (amazing album!), and good 'ol Mysticum. Tried Anti yesterday (not bad) and will be checking out the latest Darkspace in a couple days. Honestly I'm not a huge fan of ambient metal (unless it's Lurker of Chalice) but I hear good things about them. There's a crust/black/thrash band from Ohio called Midnight that's been kicking my ass, but their stuff is impossible to find. VenterHelvete wrote:I already made you a copy of the Leviathan album, dear, and played Mysticum for you in the car. Tulus has got female vox, which I know you hate (although it's more of a Storm-ish style since they don't use keyboards - this was the original band of the dudes in Khold, you'd probably like it if you weren't so anti-female), and I don't have hard copies of Midnight. I'll get you a copy of Darkspace in a couple days, I listened to them earlier and it's actually pretty fucking excellent. and for the people that are into 'older' Cradle fo Filth, definitely check out their new album! 'Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder' is their
most brutal and most grim album since 'Midian'!!!

It was alright until the riffing came in, and became close to abominable as the vocals kicked in, all in all it was pretty mediocre if I may say so.

Since there are a few Demoncy fans here, you guys(and gal) may want to check out Avsky 'Malignant'. Very grim, very raw. A keeper in my book.

Wow I appreciate the acknowledgement. Haven't heard much from Demoncy but what I have heard I liked. Not sure if E. has that, if he does I'll have a
listen, that's actually one of the bands on my "to purchase" list.

I forgot how awesome the first Wind of the Black Mountains album was - too bad Tchort (no, not that Tchort) was an OD'ing crackhead. Often overlooked and mostly forgotten early American black metal act, definitely worth a listen if you're unfamiliar. |
