The guitarist is a friend of mine and he sent me one of their videos that someone took at their show recently, if any of you have them added to Myspace I think
he later added it as a bulletin, but it's MUCH better than the ones he had before and the quality on it is much better and does the band a bit more justice
than the other videos on YouTube. I just like how complex they are and think it comes together nicely.

Seen them live, it's ok.

Europe gets all the good shows/festivals. The U.S. gets the left over scraps(if any).
We got a hold of Legion of the Damned on their myspace page and asked them if they would ever come to the U.S. "Most likely.....never." *SADASFOKK* Although I'm told that Maurice doesn't sound as good live.

You get Marryland Death Fest! And many bands throw whole US-tours and only localized EU-ones. (Northern europe, UK+Germany, mediterranean etc.)

Maryland Deathfest isn't coming anywhere near here if IIRC. I typically have to drive 4 hours to see a show, as most gigs skip this neck of the woods all
together. I'm stark amazed that Behemoth and Belphegor came here.

Well, I'm thinking of the states as a unity, but I guess it's kind of wrong of me with all the states and all that considered... ;D
Since I live in the capitol of Sweden most bands that actually come here will stop by... |

No, for some odd reason bands just stopped coming here. We of course suck in many ways but it is hard to get to the shows, just for E. and I to get to the
Maryland Death Fest it would have been a small fortune, I was estimating about 600 US dollers. : \

Where do DISSECTION go? Death or Black? Listening to "Storm of Light's Bane", and not only is it a fekkin' great album, I can't agree
with the label of Death metal i've heard people put on this band. This sounds so much more like Black... It's got a more full sound though... Any
clues?

Most people actually label them black... Over the years I've made up my mind though, and call them death metal, even though "The Somberlain"
perhaps is more so than "Storm of the Light's Bane". To my ears, it's what melodic death metal ought to sound like. Still, they seem to fall
somewhere inbetween death and black for many, and some call them black/death metal - or perhaps just Anti Kosmik Metal of DEATH!

They were always melodic [ambiguous genre] metal to me.

So, I've known of Mortem from Peru for a good while, but didn't check them out until today when I bought their latest record... Bloody awesome stuff!
It's like, a more primitive Morbid Angel in some ways. Or nah, I'm not going to make comparsions, they're bloody great on their own accord. Ah!

The half-legendary Swedish underground act Desultory, playing a fashion of death metal incorporating melodic elements without turning into... shit, or sounding like At The Gates. I've had the pleasure myself to see this band live once, and it was... just wow. The song below is perhaps one of my personal favorites, THE ILLUMINATION IS A FALSE BETRAYAL!!! |
