It looks like metal fans are unable to discuss with civility as soon as they disagree on something (myself, I need to be careful about it, as I can be quite unpleasant). Honestly, I think I hate at least 90% of the metal community. It`s almost always either flaming or sarcasm and this shit gets boring in the long run. Also, people take criticism against bands as if it were personal attacks (I`m not talking of you here, Sventevith, even though things went ugly between us on the Manowar thread a while ago. Manowar is, imo, a love or hate band and people end up fighting over this band in every forum I have seen until now. It usually ends up as a big fight between two camps). P.S. This is only a general reflexion. I have no idea what you guys wrote about each other before (I rarely come here) so, in no way I want to support one of you against the other. All I`ll say is I have nothing against your sig, Spinal Villain, and won`t judge you by it. I can`t judge you, as I don`t know you at all and only read a few of your posts. Here's the kicker though....he just showed up in this thread. I have never seen or said anything to him or about him since registering. In fact, he's been on hiatus since my registration IIRC. Funny thing though....I am registered on a gaming site and have a Nattefrost AV that flickers between him and the TNBM stamp in my sig. The forum rules there specifically state "NO RELIGIOUS DISCUSSIONS", yet not a SINGLE person(except say, one...and that was because it was personal and not professional) has ever had a problem with my AV(or in this case, sig), and I have over 5,100 posts there in 3 years. The site also has 50,000 registered members of all ages and interests. Here we are now, barely reaching 100 posts and someone....a metal head no doubt, is up in arms and butt hurt about my flaunting "fanboyism". LOFL!!! If I actually need to point out what's wrong with that picture, then there's no point in explaining to anyone as their apparent biased has blinded them. I read the exchanges in the ManoWar thread. I had an opinion on it also, but it wasn't my fight. Ultimately I felt that if I had nothing good or even informative to say about it, that I'd just stay out. That's the mature thing to do. I haven't forgotten how surly you are, but I can be pretty grumpy myself, so perhaps it just didn't bother me because I (mostly) understood where you were coming from. It just seems lately you have a major bone to pick with most of the forum members, and I was simply curious why. As you say, there have been a lot of regulars that have stopped posting, seems a shame for you to go as well (I even asked where you'd gotten off to a little while back). The discussions aren't quite as deep as they were when SQ, resior and dv were around, but it doesn't strike me as less pleasant here. It's mostly just a lot of joking around these days and seems pretty mellow. As for fanboyism, that's probably to be expected in a forum dedicated to a single band, I mean it doesn't make much sense to post at the message board of a band you hate. Everyone found this place because they enjoy the music of Summoning (same as you, I would assume). I will say I am understanding your distaste for the metal fan attitude more and more every day, however. I was going to recommend you give Spinal Villain a chance, but that seems well beyond the realm of possibility at this point. We don't need to hold hands and sing folks songs here, anyway, so do as you will. I hope you'll continue to chime in from time to time. They are black metal traditionalists and hate all the newer stuff unless it's really good. They write really well, don't use thesauruses, and there's a lot of higher education from good universities floating around that site. So while you site here and complain, they're writing good stuff about metal and introducing new people to the classics. Maybe that offends you but you should just man up and get over it

If they are NOT using a thesaurus when writing, as you say Anal Violator, it's probably not safe to call them good writers. What they appear to do is utilize big words to try to come off as some sort of enlightened authority. They can do and say and think whatever they want, and other people can not bother with it and still like black metal. I find it rather odd that you've come here seemingly for the purpose of digging up old dirt and apparently picking fights. You can like ANUS.com all you want. No one is going to judge you for that unless you start calling people weak because they have an opinion that doesn't mirror yours.
