Yeah... Play some grindcore for them and read H.P. Lovecraft and they'll be some brilliant authors of the horror/gore-genre.

I'd like to hear some kind of a mixture of LMHSYF and Minas Morgul.

I think it would be nicer to have a more medieval sound as seen on "Khazad Dum." and the albums Dol Guldor and Minas Morgul. They are legendary.
The new music sounds epic. A lot of music now a days sounds and feels epic. Yet few capture a medieval sound. I truly think the medieval sound is what makes it have a Middle-Earth or Tolkien atmosphere. Middle-Earth was written as a modern day mythology. It is supposed to be a great epic. Like reading about the sagas of the Vikings or reading the Odyssey. When your reading something such as this, creating an old archaic atmosphere is the way to go. Epic often is too modern. It reminds you that the music is mere escapism from reality. With a medieval sound, you are kept in a romanticized world with much heroism and self sacrifice. It keeps the feeling old and mystical. It has a magical effect. I do think quieter guitars are the way to go too. They often sounded too bright and dominating on Oath Bound in my opinion. Which once again, hurts the atmosphere. I listen to music so it builds a story, an atmosphere that I can immerse myself in. A medieval sound does wonders. Now I do love Oath Bound, Mortals, and such. Only I feel the sound of the earlier albums was so unique and great and capturing a old, non modern atmosphere. The production of Dol Guldor is good enough to enjoy it, yet bad enough to keep you in a Medieval world like Middle Earth. Please Protector, hear my call. |

"What do you meant with this (question)? We don`t play medieval music. Once and for all; we are neither castrated nor homosexual monks. Maybe you shall
ask bands like in extremo or corvus corax. I am very sure that these bands can tell you why they have no balls."

It would be great if there were more shorter, intro-like tracks. Bauglir, Rhun, A New Power Is Rising, Angbands Schmieden & Wyrmwater Glaurung - all of
them are great and it's a pity there's only one(in one case - two) such tracks per album(and that Mirkwood side-project were dropped). I mean, you
could have some intro, some outro and even interlude short tracks - how great would that be?
Also, I would love to see one or two DVKE covers as a bonus tracks. Or, perhaps, a mini-cd? Well, not exactly covers, just the same kind of thing they made when they reshaped IAish "Trapped and Scared" into Summoningish "Over Old Hills". Those "Winter's Night" and "Praise Blindness Eyes" tracks from last DVKE album just beg for some guitar riffs and screamo. |

I've been thinking as of why I like Dol Guldur so much, except the production and all that... And I guess it's because it feels more creative.
Different kinds of growling, inhales, shrieks and all that, and some weird resonances, rythms and effects used in a really nice way. More like that!
