Frodo just has that retarded smile that just pisses me off in LOTR. And he's always like "O Sam"...

yea Frodo is such a little baby in the movies. And Sean astin is the worst castmember I feel. But as someone said,Sean Bean as Boromir is really great-better than in the books-in the books he's a plot device to move the story in certain ways-sean bean made him a great character.
and I hated all the internal conflict added to characters that didn't need it(aragorn for instance)I think the external conflict was enough FFS! |

I agree, Sean Bean is overall one of my favorite actors and he did a great job.
As to the internal conflicts they weren't all too annoying, I just though Arwen and Aragorns relationship was emphasized a little too much. But still they did a wonderful job translating the book into a movie. ![]() |

I think Denethor plays a great role as well. It is a secondary character in the movie, but I love the way it is played.
Cheers. |

Yes John Noble does indeed play the role masterfully. He is completely different in the behind the scenes interviews.
Also has anyone seen the extended version of the Two Towers? (I ask this because there is a very good scene at Osgiliath between Boromir and Denethor that didn't make the theatrical version) ![]() |

Yeah I have the extended trilogy but I haven't watched it in the last few months.

Yes, I have watched the extended trilogy as well and I remember that there was as scene with Boromir and Denethor which makes the argument more consistent.

About books... I've read Hobbit, Lotr and Silmarillion... I was also trying to read "Morgoth's ring"(I know it's uncorrect title...but at russian it was translated as "Kol'tso Morgota")
I think, of all these books my favourite is Lotr... Silmarillion is also interesting, but I became involved with so many names... About movie... I just want to say E. Wood is suxxx... He looks like deeds and events of Lotr are not about him...I read the book after the movie, but I couldn't imagine Elijah as Frodo...I wonder who takes him for this role... And also I dislike in the movie Galadriel and Elrond... I guess it's a three the worst roles in the movie.... P.S. And I just don't like the actor which played Eomer... My favourite was Gimli(of course...John Rhys-Davis as Gimli just perfect, imo), Gandalf, Bilbo. Aragorn, Sam and Theoden also good... Eowyn and Saruman...hmm...Not bad, but they could be better, I think. But much of all I like Nazguls... Perfect roles, perfect characters... |
